Coming into my freshman year of college I was expecting the worst experience ever. I felt college was going to be too hard and I wouldn’t be able to manage playing sports and academics, I felt like I was doomed from day one. The first week of school was a little stressful because as any other freshman I was trying to find my way around, get settled in class, and most of all getting use to my parents not being around. Then as weeks went by I got use to it, I realized that it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be but yet college was a challenge. I originally came to TLU to play basketball and I heard that the science department was awesome here as well. Even though I got red shirted this year I learned some things from that and that was a part of life to go through disappointments and to experience things to make you better. After I was read shirted I had more time on my hands, then I went rough a depression mode because I felt when I got red shirted I felt like my world was so over because that’s all I ever cared about (playing basketball, friends and family) nothing else ever mattered to me until this year. This freshman year I found some new friends and I made a few enemies overall this year was a great experience and I would not change it for anything in this world.
